Aft Seat/Tank Area

The lower part of the drawing shows the arrangement on the centreline, with a doubler inside the hull where the skeg attaches, and the three thicknesses of ply in the transom, for the outboard motor pad and the rudder fittings.

The top part shows the arrangement away from the centreline, with two thicknesses of ply on the exposed transom above the seat and only one thickness below.

The skeg is made from three thicknesses of ply bonded together and with a solid wood edge protection strip bonded to the edge. I joined the skeg to the centreline rubbing strake forward of it by scarphing the parts of the skeg and rubbing strake together - this was probably overkill, but I enjoyed doing it!

An individual part drawing will be prepared showing the layout of the transom plywood pieces.
