This is the main illustration from the Voyager brochure. Some things to note from it are:
·
How far forward the ride sits - his/her feet are very nearly level with the front hub.·
The simple triangular side frames, cantilevered out from the 'sandwich' plate between the engine and gearbox. Both frames are not quite pure triangles, but close. At the front, brackets pick up the cylinder head studs and lower front engine mounting.·
The clever sliding backrest arrangement that can be adjusted to suit a solo rider or rider and pillion.·
The 'direct' connection between the handlebars and the rear end of the steering rods via a 'steering column' which, together with the forward position of the rider, avoids the need for a secondary steering head, as found on the Quasar.·
The massive 'footbox' assembly around the front wheel to protect the rider's feet and legs in a crash.A couple of points on the photo which might need explanation are:
·
The black handle sticking above the engine air cleaner operates the centre stand by a cable and can be used either standing up or sitting down.·
The strange shape just below and forward of the seat is the right-hand pillion footrest (folded up) - it has a loop round the back to hold the pillion's heel and the rounded front is probably to avoid the rider's leg catching on it.
